BIKING
This was an amazing, incredible experience.
Oh my gosh these people are absolutely AMAZING!!!!!!! I am a burn survivor of just over 17 months and for burn camp every year we use their services. David Snee is absolutely amazing as well! I completely recommend them for any river rafting or mount biking experience!
Like all guided trips and tours one takes - your experience in highly dependent on the guide you end up with. We ran across a few guides during our adventure. There were 3 assigned to us (one swapped out mid-way through because he had another job) and when our biking tour merged with the other rafting tour we became acquainted with the other guides. So having been exposed to about 6 guides on this trip I feel the two best, most competent, best bedside manner, most fun and most knowledageble were Josh and T-Bird. 2 really awesome guides and great guys. They loved their job, loved the outdoors and it showed.

I'm not a big camper... I've probably only ever camped twice in my life for 1 night before this trip and the guides made the experience as good as I could imagine. They did everything for you except set-up and break-down your tent. They cooked, cleaned and provided just about everything you would need at the camp site. The first night we camped in a remote, wooded area on an incredible cliff overlooking a beautiful valley - exactly what you would hope from a tour like this. The second night was actually the worst part of the trip.. it was a camp site called Hittle Bottom. The site was mostly dirt, it was next to the site's bathrooms and was infested with flies (probably because of proximity to said bathrooms). When spending this kind of money, you don't want to end up at a lousy state campsite on the side of the road like this this. The third night camp site was EPIC - we rafted a couple hours to a remote beach right on the Colorado River called "Hades". The Hades Camp Site was beautiful and stunning in every single way. My biggest gripe about the camping was they didn't let us have a campfire. So once the sun went down there was pretty much nothing else to do other than go to sleep. And for someone used to going to sleep around midnight - hitting the sleeping bag at around 7-8pm every night was no fun.
Overall I highly recommend this company. They have been in business for 50 years and give a first rate experience.
The 3-day Westwater Canyon rafting trip from August 1 through August 3 was one of my best experiences I've had. My brother came with me, and we both had a wonderful time. The guides and staff were top notch and the meals were delicious. I hope to be able to do another trip like this again someday.
The first 2 days of biking were no joke. They were hard and challenging. You're riding up some pretty unrelenting inclines at about 6000 feet. So your lungs are going to hate you if you don't live at that altitude. But there are some great downhills and the views every single moment are spectacular. Don't underestimate the biking portion of this tour and TRAIN for it!
THE GUIDES
Went on a 3-day Westwater Canyon trip with these guys. The meals would amaze you, and the guides were great company; they were very informative about the geology and history of the area. Casey was our guide, and I would highly recommend him! He navigated the rapids flawlessly, and he even made a birthday cake for a kid on another raft one night!
CAMPING
THE FOOD
Rafting wasn't amazing. Having rafted a few times in my life I was expecting the same world-class experience I had mountain biking. But this company doesn't let you paddle the boat. You just sit there as a passenger while the guide rows. For most of the older people on the tour that seemed fine. But my group was disappointed we didn't get to participate in the activity. Also we went mid August and the rapids weren't very good. They were not their full class. None of the supposed Class 4 rapids were really Class 4. And maybe only a couple of the Class 3 rapids were actually just minor class 3's.
THE RAFTING
The food.. the breakfasts, lunches and dinners the guides whipped up each day was some of the best food I've ever had camping or otherwise. From lasagne to filet to cake, to blueberry pancakes.. you'll be amazed at what they conjure up with camping tools.
5-day Cataract Canyon trip was one of the best trips I've ever taken. Magnificent scenery; calm times on the water mixed with fun rapids; excellent fresh food; scenic campsites and hikes; totally chill guides with excellent knowledge and skill who did their utmost to make it enjoyable; accommodating office staff. I'm eager to go again.
