A final plus is that the park has running water (sinks, toilets, and showers!).
It is very remote, but has a nice 8 mile hike through a nice lost canyon (actually several, but all on the same hike/loop). There are some short day hikes near the camp ground, where you can see the strange 'goblin' formations.
Awesome place to stay and camp. So many fun hikes nearby. Flushing toilets and showers.
If you can get here on a moonless night, you're in for a treat, as the park experiences very little artificial light noise (meaning the night sky is spectacular).
Don't miss this uniqe spot in the middle of nowhere, and take spot number 12
This was a great park (State) to stay at for a few days when traveling to/from the Canyonlands (eastern, UT) to the parks in south-western UT.
This campground is phenomenal!!! We stayed one night in Yurt #1, and the second night in a regular campsite spot because we were so pleased with our first night at this campground. A couple of the features that we enjoyed: running water, showers, clean bathrooms, individual shelters at each spot, disc golf, activities for rent at the ranger station! Reserve a spot if you can, unless you're in the off season then you shouldn't have much of a problem, especially on a week day. We got one around 11 AM on September 14th, and all the spots filled up around 6 PM. And if you get a chance to reserve a yurt like we did, DO IT! This was one of the coolest experiences. Basic amenities inside, like AC and Heat, and outside is your own picnic table and fire pit. There's even a grill on the front porch with two chairs. Bring your own linens! Goblin valley itself offers sooo much land to explore, and is only about an hour from Capitol Reef. Highly recommend this campground!!
Spent 1 night at the campground in May 2017 which seemed like enough to experience Goblin Valley. It is definitely in the middle of nowhere so keep that in mind when stocking up on fuel and provisions. Sites are decently spaced out and the campground was quiet after-dark. Book your reservation early if you can because sites fill up quickly in-season. Easy access to Goblin Valley in the evening and early morning was nice since there are no other accommodations nearby.
